Most people come to David becuase a particular animal means something to them - sometimes it's a favourite species, sometimes a memory from a holiday or a conservation work, and sometimes it's simply admiration for the animal itself.

David Dancey-Wood specialises in wildlife portraiture, particularily endageres and iconic species, including:

• Big cats such as lions, leopards, and tigers

• Elephants and African wildlife

• Primates including gorillas and chimpanzees

• Rare and endangered species from around the world

David doesn't take on domestic pets or human portraits - His focus is entirely on wildlife.

How the commission process works

David keeps things straightforward.

It usually starts with an email or enquiry where you tell David what you have in mind. From there, you shape the idea together - the animal, the size, and the feel of the piece.

Once you've agreed everything:

​

• David confirms pricing and timing

• You choose suitable reference images

• A deposit secures your place in David's schedule

• And David begins work

David will keep you updated as work progresses, and you're personal artwork will come together step by step.
