The textures and tones in all the elephants made this a very time-consuming drawing to complete. David thought the setting and the scene were a perfect image since this is the way we all imagine elephants to be in the wild and this is how we see them on documentaries. Living in large families, rather than the sad solitary elephants we encounter in zoos.
It is in fact a very beautiful and natural drawing.
